Meaning Breakfast for Dinner, of course.  :)

My family loves having breakfast for dinner. We do it a couple of times a month because it’s fun, easy, and lighter than a big heavy dinner meal. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite brinner recipes before we head into our Passover holiday planning. I’ll be sharing some brand new brinner recipes, as well as favorite dishes from the archives.

  1. I love oatmeal with anise flavoring and some oleo spread, cooked with almond milk(allergic to milk), and some sweetener added.

  2. I love a good cheese omelette, but lately I’ve been into hash – corned beef or whatever meat I have left over. I like it better with scrambled eggs.

  3. I love breakfast for anytime of day! My absolute favorite would be homemade bread (toasted) and topped with an over-medium egg and sliced tomatoes :)

  4. This is wonderful. Knowing you have a contracted a word “brinner” in your home is as spontaneous as “lunner” in my home when my girls were children! How about chicken & waffles or banana-chocolate peanut butter waffles for dessert! Better yet pulled brisket & apricot waffles followed by fresh iced tea!!!

  6. An omelette made with onins, green pepper, potatoes, tomatoes and mushrooms (for my husband’s anyway). Lightly toasted whole wheat bread. Coffee. Yum!! We have it at least once a month.

  7. Love the name “brinner”… We love waffles or pancakes, omelets, eggs benedict…we do this every other week or so…
    I never win anything, but my waffle iron bit the dust last week…so I will keep my fingers crossed!

  8. Love brinner!! My faves are either grilled veggie frittata with crumbled hot sausage and grated sharp provolone or chocolate chip pancakes with bacon!!! I don’t have a waffle iron but if I did choco chip waffles would be right up there too!

  9. My mom and dad always served a full pancake and eggs with bacon or sausages on Saturday night. Every Saturday night. Some of the best dinner memories come from those Saturday night Breakfasts. Miss those so much.

  10. I like to make scrambled eggs with toast for dinner. The mister makes matza brie or challah bread French toast. He has been developing these recipes for many years and they are pretty near perfection. As you can imagine, we are big brinner people and have brinner at least once a week.

  11. My favorite Brinner would be: A sweet potato pancake with rum sauce made with butter/real rum, raw sugar, two slices of lean bacon and some pickled peaches on the side.

  12. First of all…waffles are my most favorite food! My BRINNER includes: Chocolate Chip Waffles, French Omelets with Cheese, Fresh Strawberries and of course a Cup of (decaf..it’s night) Coffee and Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice! That is seriously the best BRINNER anyone could as for!

  13. I adore waffles and pancakes, but my favorite brinner would be challah french toast with real maple syrup with sausages. I also make baked “scrambled” eggs in my silicone muffin tin(the perfect individual serving size!), where I mix scrambled eggs with red bell pepper, diced seeded tomato, a mix of fresh herbs(from my garden) and cheese and either serve them with toast, pancakes/waffles or toss some toasted/stale cubed bread(challah or garlic Texas Toast) into the mix the night before and make mini stratas. YUM!!

  14. When we were children our mother would make us salami mixed with scrambled eggs and served with french fries and baked beans for dinner. For my children I tried to make it a little bit healthier and switched the salami to baloney. I totally forgot about this wonderful meal. I can’t wait to eat it again.

  15. When my husband makes Dinner, it is always brinner. He makes either Matzo Brie or Salami &eggs with Bagels and cream cheese. I love both of his brinners!

  16. My boys love blueberry and banana whole wheat pancakes with a side of veggie sausages and oj for brinner. They had waffles for the first time a couple weeks ago while we were on a trip and the LOVED them. We could try blueberry waffles…

  17. Ooooh, my favorite would be baked french toast with blueberries & the recipe calls for using Challah bread! How good is that?!

  18. I always look forward to leftover steamed rice. Breakfast fried rice (scrambled eggs + chicken or beef sausage) is perfect for brinner, brunch, or brack time! PS. Made your puff pastry cheese bourekas today. Hubby thought I got them at an Armenian bakery hehehe :) You never let me down!

  19. Macaroon-inspired french toast and Turkey Bacon croissant sandwiches with chives, dijon, coarse mustard and gruyere inside—all wrapped in foil and baked til flakey and warm!

  20. So many excellent choices…my mouth is watering! My entry is Huevos Rancheros, complete with avocado, salsa and spinach added since I love it so much! Very filling and healthy! I have always wanted to try Chicken and waffles…will have to find in on a menu somewhere first!

  21. We l-o-v-e brinner around our house! Breakfast burritos or hole-in-the-bread (you know… butter bread, cut hole in center and fry an egg in it) are brinner staples for us!!

  22. Oh how fun! When I get the hankering for a breakfasty dinner, I make something we call ‘Denver Steaks’. It is simply eggs mixed with a little bit of hamburger meat, some chopped green pepper and onions, salt and pepper and whisked to a batter like consistency. I fry them up in fat and serve them with hash browns. Very good and hearty with a definite ‘brinner’ flavor to them!

  23. Cinnamon raisin challah french toast with whipped butter and vanilla mint syrup. With a kir royale of course! Veuve cliquot and creme de cassis.

  24. Hoppel Poppel is our fave for a Backwards Day as in having breakfast for dinner. Scrambled eggs with onions, potatoes and salami. Don’t forget the ketshup Not KOSHER? Add cheese to the HP and serve with a toasted bagel schmeared with cream cheese. YUMMY! Of course I am entering here on FB and twitter as my other half makes his pancake/waffle batter from scratch!

  25. I love sauteeing tomatoes,potatoes,peppers then crack several eggs on top and put feta cheese and parsley all over!
    If i had this waffle maker though it might change! I have been wanting one since we visited Belgium four years ago but my husband claims we dont have the space in the kitchen!!
