I love this article by Michelle Green about community cookbooks. There is something so special about these old volumes, compiled lovingly by church or civic groups– when you open a book like this, you can feel the care that went into writing down the family recipes and sharing them with others. I collect community cookbooks, as well as antique and vintage cookbooks, because I feel so connected to recipes with history. Next time you hit a flea market or antique shop, browse through a few… you might be surprised
at the recipes you find!
