Every Friday, I take my favorite “picks” from my week on the web and post them here for you to enjoy. But before I announce my picks, here is a quick recap of this week’s posts on ToriAvey.com– just in case you missed them.
My Tipsy Trifle with Peaches and Cream is cold, creamy, sweet, and just a little bit naughty. Check out my first post as a Contributing Chef for Zabar’s NY, and be sure to sign up for their newsletter for more delicious recipes!
This recipe for Pie Crust Pinwheels brings back happy childhood memories. What do you like to make with your pie crust trimmings?
I love Lucy! Do you?
The winner of the Caption Marley contest is Shawn Cady! Here is Shawn’s caption:

TORI’S WEEKLY WEB PICKS
Here are some of my favorite picks from the web this week.
It’s high time I give a shout-out to Kim Bee over at the Cravings of a Lunatic blog! Kim’s blog is always an entertaining read. This chocolate pistachio bark looks delectable, and so easy– just three simple ingredients. Kim also recently did an awesome post about my Ima Burgers recipe. It was super flattering and funny. Gotta love Kim!
This guest post at Steamy Kitchen combines so many of my favorite flavors into one awesome salad! Viviane Bauquet Farre, author of Food and Style blog, really outdid herself– beautiful recipe and photos!
Did you know that Zabar’s lobster salad doesn’t contain lobster? I’m a Contributing Chef to Zabar’s, and this was news to me! This is a fun article about the renaming of a beloved Zabar’s dish. They’re now running a contest on the Zabar’s Facebook page asking for suggestions to rename the salad. If your name is picked, you could win some yummy Zabar’s food! Check it out here.
The food blogging community was shocked and saddened when food blogger Jennifer Perillo lost her husband– too young and much too suddenly. I will be making a peanut butter pie in memory of Mikey today, I encourage you all to do the same. Please remember Jennifer and her family in your prayers.
Every week, I post the Twitter accounts that make me smile with their
fun or interesting tweets. Here are this week’s picks…
Our hearts go out to Jennifer in her time of sorrow. Jennifer writes a beautiful food blog. Please do follow her, read her blog, and send prayers to her family during this diffcult time.
I met Kim at the BlogHer 2011 conference last weekend. Her blog Mommy Knows is full of crafty inspiration and yummy treats. And she also has an adorable orange kitten. And she knows a lot about natural baby products. And she’s awesome. Follow her!
I also met Secret Agent Josephine (aka Brenda) at the BlogHer conference. She’s an incredible talented graphic artist and a super cool person. You’ll love her blog and her tweets, promise!
COMMENT OF THE WEEK
This comment came in on my Pie Crust Pinwheels blog from a reader named K:
Aww this reminded me of my grandmother!!! She made these too (therefore, of course my mom did as well). We called them “gobble-ups” because you could “gobble them up” quickly after they baked! 😉 One of my favorite memories. Thanks for the smile!
Thank you, K!
