Sponsored by opens in a new windowChallah Connection.
I can hardly believe it, but Passover is only two weeks away. Yikes! I’m sure many of you are hard at work gathering recipes, making lists, planning menus and preparing for the Seder. This time of year can be a little stressful, so I thought it might be nice to reward your hard work with some terrific holiday giveaways. Enter my friends at opens in a new windowChallah Connection, who offered to share their opens in a new windowPassover gift basket with my readers. Perfect timing!
In 2002, opens in a new windowChallah Connection owner Jane Moritz found herself in need of a career change. Each Friday she would bake challah in her home kitchen. When her children grew older and brought friends home to visit, they would often sit in the kitchen, happily watching the challah being baked and tasting it fresh from the oven. This tradition taught her about the power of challah and its ability to connect people of all backgrounds. This inspired Jane to purchase the original Challah Connection, which at the time was a local challah delivery service based in Fairfield County, Connecticut. She soon expanded into kosher gift baskets. Thirteen years later, Challah Connection is a thriving business. Mazel tov Jane!
opens in a new windowChallah Connection’s Wise Passover Basket was inspired by the four sons, wise, wicked, simple and naïve, who needed to learn the message of freedom. They say that the wise son was very wise when creating this terrific keepsake wicker basket, filled with certified kosher for Passover treats, including:
-Matzo that is first dipped in toffee, then dipped in dark chocolate and finally, sprinkled with almonds and pecans on top
-Pistachios in the shell
-Platter of assorted candies and macaroons including fruit slices, chocolate nonpareils, chocolate and plain macaroons
-Assorted dried fruit
-Matzolah – Passover granola made with Streit’s matzo, almonds, pecans, walnuts, coconut, raisins and vanilla, lightly sweetened with maple syrup
-Assorted Passover chocolate filled sandwich cookies
