As you can probably see, I’ve been in a “transition period” here on the blog. In addition to a major website makeover, there have been quite a few changes happening in my life, both personally and professionally. It’s all very good and necessary change, but it’s kept me from blogging as regularly as I’d like to.
That ends today with an exciting announcement– and on Albert Einstein’s birthday, no less! I am honored and thrilled to be a judge in the 2016 Next Einstein Competition. This unique contest recognizes new “genius ideas” with the potential to make the world a better place. The idea could very well be yours!
Beyond recognition, the Next Einstein Competition helps to facilitate innovative ideas with seed capital, educational scholarships and more. Maybe you’ve been thinking about a transformative concept, an idea that will really shake things up. Or maybe you’ve recently filed a patent for an invention that could change the world as we know it. If it is new, innovative and capable of changing the world for the better, the Next Einstein Competition can help take it off the drawing board and bring it into the real world.
The legacy of Albert Einstein inspires me both creatively and professionally. Einstein was not limited by societal constraints, expectations and obligations. He allowed his mind to expand and roam freely in his well known “thought experiments,” which ultimately led him to discoveries that shaped the future of our world. The Next Einstein Competition provides an opportunity for anybody (age 13 and older) from any background to share their inner genius with the world. The Canadian Jewish News recently interviewed me about the competition, and also discussed last year’s winner– a 13 year-old boy who created a low cost 3D-printed prosthetic arm. How amazing is that?? You can read about it here.
I’m honored to be a part of this year’s judging panel, alongside a very distinguished group of individuals from a variety of scientific and creative backgrounds. Learn more about the other judges here, and submit your idea here!
Best of luck to all who enter. I’m looking forward to seeing all the creative, exciting ideas unfold!
