Cooking With Blue Apron Delivery Service + An Offer For Two Free Meals! #blueapron
Sponsored by Blue Apron.
Recently Blue Apron contacted me and asked me to try out their meal delivery service for a week and and share the experience with all of you. Their timing was pretty perfect. I’ve been telling all of you how busy life has been for months now and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. All good things, thankfully, but it means less time for meal planning, grocery shopping and leisurely home cooked meals.
I have to admit, having Blue Apron over the past week was pretty helpful. They do the meal planning and shopping for you! Many of you have probably heard about this fabulous meal delivery service, but if you haven’t I’m excited to share it with you today. It’s a great concept.
When you sign up for Blue Apron delivery service you receive everything you need to make a healthy and tasty meal for your family – in under 40 minutes! All of the ingredients are fresh, locally sourced and perfectly portioned, a guarantee that you won’t be wasting any food or making last minute trips to the grocery store.
The food is delivered to your doorstep in a refrigerated box, so there’s no need to worry if you won’t be home when it arrives. I chose the Family Plan, which feeds a family of four, but Blue Apron also offers a 2-Person Plan, which I would have loved during my college years. Blue Apron gives their customers the opportunity to make a home cooked meal without losing precious time for work. Only so many hours in the day!
Blue Apron offers an expansive list of recipes and they’re constantly adding more, which allows some folks to venture out of their cooking comfort zones. Click here to see some of their offerings. I’m thinking next I’d love to try their Warm Squash and Kale Salad or Winter Mushroom Ramen. They aren’t currently offering kosher meal plans, so if this is something you’re interested in seeing you might try contacting them with your suggestions.
The ingredients are very fresh and the flavor pairings are creative. Each kit comes with a fully illustrated recipe card with step-by-step photos (just like the recipes on my site!). I should also mention the added bonus that each meal is between 500-700 calories per person– convenient AND healthy. My cooking assistants Marley and Milo were very impressed.
This week I received recipes and everything needed to make Roasted Chicken and Root Vegetables with Potato-Rutabaga Mash and Chickpea Burgers with Vadouvan-Roasted Carrots and Feta Yogurt Sauce, which you can see in the photos. For the chickpea burgers I received sesame seed buns, a can of chickpeas, Greek yogurt, carrots, garlic, arugula, a Persian cucumber, a yellow onion, a lemon, Vadouvan curry powder, crumbled feta, chickpea flour and grated parmesan. As promised, everything was fresh, organized and measured out for the recipe. Easy peasy. A homemade meal from whole, healthy ingredients without the hassle… how can you not love that?

Tori: I have been following you for awhile and have to say recipe I have tried of yours has been great. Lots of raves.
I have been ordering from Blue Apron for about a year. Since I am single the 2 person box every two weeks and I usually get more than the 2 serving from a recipe, sometimes 3 and sometimes a lunch.. The meals are great, I love the fact that everything is included except the salt, pepper and olive oil. I get to experience foods I wouldn’t even think of buying and am not out buying a jar of spices for 2 teaspoons of something. I also find it very economical, if your reader want to try this they will not be disappointed.
Betty, I agree! It’s really a great service. So glad you’re enjoying it, thanks for sharing your experience!

Mf Cohen they don’t have a kosher option yet, but if you’re interested in one let them know. I’m sure they would love the feedback!
