In summer the grocery store shelves teem with lush, juicy stone fruit. There is nothing more succulent than a perfectly ripe peach. Add something tipsy to the mix, and you’ve got a perfectly refreshing, seasonal party drink! This chilled white sangria with fresh peaches is so easy to make. Enjoy it to cool down on a hot summer evening.
When it comes to traditional Spanish sangrias, red wine usually plays a starring role. In this lighter sangria, white wine, peach liqueur, and ginger ale combine to create a subtly sparkling peach sangria. Of course, fresh ripe peach slices play the starring role here. This sweet and summery beverage is crisp, clean, and very easy to prepare. It’s the perfect seasonal summer flavor, so cool and refreshing. This light cocktail is like a mini vacation in a pitcher. Cheers!

Peach Sangria
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh yellow peaches, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup peach liqueur or peach schnapps
- 750 milliliters white wine (1 bottle)
- 1 liter ginger ale, chilled
NOTES
Instructions
- Place the sliced peaches into the bottom of the sangria pitcher.
- In a small saucepan, bring 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water to a boil. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool. This is your simple syrup.
- Pour the simple syrup, peach liqueur and white wine over the peaches. Stir.Place the pitcher in the refrigerator and let it sit for at least 2 hours, up to overnight.
- When ready to serve, top the pitcher off with chilled ginger ale and stir gently. Serve in wine glasses, allowing a piece of fruit or two into each glass.
- The ginger ale will lose its carbonation quickly in the pitcher, but will still add a great flavor. If you'd like a more sparkling sangria, top the glasses off, rather than the pitcher. Fill each glass half full with sangria and top off with ginger ale. This will make the final beverage more carbonated and sparkling.
This recipe is such a keeper!!
I bumped into the recipe a couple of summers ago and have used it time and time again. Truth be told, I regularly keep a pitcher of the base made up in my refrigerator most weeks of summer, helping myself to a glass while prepping a meal or sitting out on the deck – or offering it up to anyone who happens to stop by the house.
I find myself now using soda water (flavored or not) instead of ginger-ale, which started to taste too sweet to me with the sugar and peach liqueur.
I love that I can mix up everything but the soda/ginger-ale and keep it in the fridge, adding the sparkling something at serving time.
And oh… those peaches do get awfully tasty after floating in the base for a few days. Thanks for this now staple delight in my summer!
I added strawberries and replaced the ginger ale with sparkling white wine. Big hit!
Looks fresh and delicious! Ginger and peach sound like a great combo. I’ll have to grab some peaches from the market and save this one for next weekend! Looks amazing!
Best white sangria I have ever had. My guests raved about it. Thanks For sharing
Glad to hear it!
I’m making for tomorrow but I only have a peach wine, a Moscato, and a semi-sweet white wine. Recommendations?
Personally I would use the semi-sweet white wine, and potentially adjust the sugar lower depending on the sweetness of the wine. If using the moscato you likely won’t need the simple syrup at all, as they are quite sweet on their own.
This sangria was a hit at a birthday BBQ. I didn’t see the wine suggestions in the comments, so I used a Pinot Grigio and it was great. I topped off the glasses with ginger ale. I also tried it topped with natural San Pellegrino sparkling water. You can’t go wrong with this recipe!
This recipe has been a hit with anyone I’ve served it to. It’s a very refreshing treat. I’ve found the simple syrup can be excluded if you want (when you need to make a second batch on the spot!)
Newbie here.
What is the best type of white wine.
There are so many.
I don’t want it too sweet.
Hi Tracey! I’d use a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay here. If you don’t want it to sweet, try it first without the simply syrup – you may like it without. Only add it if you feel it needs additional sweetness. Enjoy!
Great recipe. Made a second time with creme soda instead of ginger ale. Took it to the next level.
Love this idea!
It truly reflects the summer vibes! Worth a try soonnn
Delicious! Added blueberries for a little more color. Everyone wants the recipe!
Did you use a dry or sweet wine?
What’s the best type of peach liqueur to use?
Any nice quality peach liqueur will work. It’s a forgiving recipe. 🙂
This has become our “go to” sangria this summer. We like as is, except we muddle the peaches in the wine before adding the rest, but a couple other variations work well, too:
1) we substituted white grape juice for the sugar water
2) we used an American Riesling as the wine, and didn’t need to add any grape juice (or sugar water)
